天天好天

上星期日和妻小去看了“天天好天”。对的，又是一部本地制作贺岁片。这部电影的宣传可说是排山倒海的。自己也是因my fm 的广告之故而去捧场的。宣传归宣传，但自己观看后还算觉得还蛮不错的。 
论题材，它不算是传统贺岁片，反倒是环境写实片多一点。重点是，故事平实不取巧; 煽情得来又不娇情。
故事中的人物，分分钟会有一两个能让我们及身边的人对号入座。
像林风娇这个人物，是典型城市职业女性的写照。每天为生活而忙，抽时间给孩子变成一件奢侈的事。女儿连写对联都得kakak 教。是不是讽刺中又似乎极贴切?
老人家对孙女的隔代情，似乎是对于自己女儿父女情的一种折射。
还有那最引人深思的"一年见父母一次＂的现代都市人生活惯例，几乎是贴切中带有点讽刺。
我们是不是也该反思，电影中的一些情节是不是特别触动自己心灵某一部位?

劉特佐你好样！

七月尾的八卦新闻要数劉特佐在美国的风流快活事件最令人津津乐道。
陆续出街的有狗仔的小道照片及传神到几近身历其境的报道。几乎每项报导都不忘将其与“马来西亚”扯上关系， 盖因刘先生是不折不扣的马来西亚人。
其实满足人们好奇心该是办报人的天职之一吧。要不然本地星报该不会一头条封面再加內页四版“独家”报导专访Jho刘的新闻。http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2010/7/29/nation/6753558&sec=nation
我本身认为刘氏再怎么有本事，是二十岁赚第一桶金还是三十岁，那关我屁事。 需不需要占版位来替他宣传？美其名说是要听一听当事人“我方的故事”。
不是酸葡萄心态，我想我们往后真不能对印刷媒体有任何的期望。若刘氏是百万富翁，今天他有钱出钱，做公益行善捐了个十万八万，那报纸为他登了个头版表扬一下，我举手举脚赞同。
说失望真还蛮失望的，什么叫涉及公众利益媒体大概都摆一边了。这年头还真难找到有正义的新闻工作者。自己比较欣赏的反倒是免费报纸 The Sun Citizen Nades 专栏的 R. Nadeswaran 和Down 2 Earth 的 Terence Fernandez 。 两人是出了名揭露涉及公众利益的新闻工作者。文章每每触及行政弊端，偏差，只为不让真相被扫入地毯下。http://www.sun2surf.com/section.cfm?id=275

老同事聚餐

上个星期六和一班旧东家的同事们搞了个聚餐。有七八个那么多，都是偕老伴小孩一起来。
最久远的该有八年没见了，有的发福了，有的沧桑了许多。现今都各自在不同公司，有的当了主管级人物，有的还有暇兼营保险事业。可谓各有成就。
话题虽然不多，但胜在彼此默契犹在。大伙儿志在闲话家常，问问近况。
闲谈中也不难发现到，大伙在心智上真的成熟了很多。对生活的要求及领略也踏实了许多。 那也许是时光及人生历练所造就出来的吧。
这是个蛮难得的一次聚会，虽只是短短三局钟，但却也真难能可贵。
还是希望有空再来聚聚。

Thumb Drive

Who is the inventor of Thumb Drive? I've got the answer from today's newpaper - it is a Malaysian by the name of KS Pua (潘建成）。
I must admit that i did not know it until this morning, that thumb drive was actually invented by a Malaysian. To be more exact, Pua was the founder of a Taiwanese Company called Phison and it was this company that invented this gadget.

I did not come across the information about 潘建成 from the technical or IT column of the paper but it was from the SPM result annoucement that I got to know that 潘建成 was from 育群 in Sekinchan that produced two 16A1 top students this year.

Apparently Sekinchan is a place that is 卧虎藏龙。 The headmaster of New Era (新纪元）潘永忠 is also from Sekinchan.

Approaching 20th Month

I can't believe that I have been in the blogging for almost 20 months now.
It all started when i was in Dublin. Back than life was so plain and bored. That was probably the only "honey moon" period for my entire career life. I hadn't got any assignment at that time, with only 1 objective i.e. to be "trained" on company's processes and procedures. Having said that, i would not perceive that as a waste of time as I indeed learned so much that i couldn't have achieved without been in Dublin.
i built trust with the team over there which made the subsequent communication less difficult. Also, it is always good to know a person by face apart from by his/her name.
Anyway, that was history. Just flashed to my mind when recalling about what led to the birth of this blog.

School Holiday

It's school holiday again!
Students are having a 7 week break until Jan 09 and the road traffic in now better ever than other days of the year.
In this part of the year as well, we can see a lot of employees are taking leave. For those who are having scholling kids at home, it is probably time for a longer holiday somewhere in Malaysia or abroad. For other people, it could be time to clear the annual leave before it is forfeited in end of 2008.
Regardless of what reason it is, this is the best time to call it a break and regain our energy before facing another challenging year of 2009.
